With just six races remaining in the 2015 Duo BRDC Formula 4 Championship, next weekend’s penultimate event of the campaign at Donington Park Grand Prix Circuit marks a key point of the season for leading team SWR.

Ahead of rounds 19, 20 and 21 at the Leicestershire venue on 12th/13th September, SWR’s Jordan Albert is sixth in the driver standings and well within reach of the series top three as the category returns to the scene of his maiden BRDC F4 podium finish last year.

While hopes of challenging for the coveted title are increasingly slim, albeit mathematically still a possibility, Albert – who is a double race winner this season – most certainly has his sights set on a move up the championship standings and is determined to make a podium return at Donington.

Despite a heavy excursion in testing at Snetterton prior to the previous event a fortnight ago, where he was in fantastic form with session-topping performances, Albert still managed to string together three solid finishes to consolidate a top six championship placing.

With 46 points currently separating Albert from third spot in the driver standings, a major haul at Donington is the key requirement and as a track he has performed well at previously, the hope at SWR is for one of its strongest outings of 2015.

“Donington is going to be a crucial weekend for Jordan, probably the most vital of the season to be honest as it could determine whether or not a top three championship finish is possible”, said SWR team owner Sean Walkinshaw, “He raced very well there last year in his debut season, and we know he can win races, so the aim is to score as heavily as possible and hopefully get back on the podium.”

Just 10 points shy of the championship top 10 going into the Donington weekend, SWR’s first year racer Zubair Hoque is more than capable of a podium challenge – as already proven this season at Rockingham earlier in the campaign.

Other than an unfortunate retirement in round 10 at Snetterton in July, which was the result of a puncture, Hoque has delivered an impressively consistent season with the Oxfordshire squad and will be aiming to challenge for top 10 results at least during next weekend’s outing.

“Every point scored at Donington will be important for Zubair”, added Walkinshaw, “There are eight or more drivers all in the battle to try and break into the top 10 in the championship so it’s sure to be hotly contested again next weekend. It’d be great to see Zubair in the top 10 in all three races at Donington and we know he has the pace to do it.”

Donington Park GP Circuit qualifying will get underway at 11.20 on Saturday, 12th September, with round 19 following at 16.35. On Sunday, 13th September, round 20 will start at around 11.10 with round 21 beginning at 15.50 – race three of the weekend will also be screened live on Motors TV.
