TCR UK Championship

TCR UK Championship

SWR was one of the very first entrants to confirm participation in the new-for-2018 TCR UK Championship when the category was launched last year, the latest addition to the burgeoning list of TCR touring car championships across the globe.

Live streaming and television

For the inaugural UK season, championship organisers have confirmed television coverage and live online streaming will be filmed and produced by Pro-Active Broadcast.

Every race will be streamed on a variety of online platforms, including You Tube, Facebook Live and through the official website, with television broadcasts in the UK to feature on Motorsport TV, Sky Sports and Front Runner, as well as on demand through Motor Trend.

Technical

Tyre supply comes from renowned brand Yokohama, a business which has a long history of involvement in touring car racing across the globe – not least as a partner for the past 11 years to the FIA World Touring Car Championship.

Ohlins is the official suspension partner for TCR UK, represented at the track through the technical expertise of Mick Gardener Racing. Like Yokohama, Ohlins appears in touring car paddocks across the globe with title success in the WTCC, BTCC and the DTM series.

Sporting

Season one of the TCR UK Championship will be contested across 14 rounds over seven race weekends, with visits to Britain’s premier motorsport venues such as Silverstone, Brands Hatch, Oulton Park and Donington Park.

Points are scored by the top 10 qualifiers and the top 20 finishers in the races. Grids for the opening contest each weekend are based on the fastest times in qualifying while the race two starting order will be set by second fastest laps from qualifying, but with the top 10 reversed.
